New Bern Magazine New Bern Magazine is
published monthly and features information on events and attractions in
Craven and Pamlico counties. It's distributed free at various locations,
including the Craven County Convention and Visitors Bureau in the New Bern
Riverfront Convention Center at the corner of East and South Front streets
and at the New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce at 316 S. Front Street. New
Bern Magazine also is available by mail subscription, 12 issues for $15
per year. The Shopper/Community Newspapers The Shopper, published
weekly, features advertisements, specials and coupons offered by local
businesses in New Bern and Havelock. The Shopper also prints
special sections dedicated to home improvement, back-to-school, holiday
gift giving and other topics, as well as annual medical and hospitality
guides. This 36-year-plus publication is delivered free of charge on
Wednesdays to more than 31,000 households in Craven County. Classified ads
may be placed by calling (888) 328-4802. The Shopper also
publishes several monthly community newspapers, which are delivered free
of charge to the residents they serve. These include the Taberna
Tribune, New Bern Herald, Greenbrier Gazette,
The Fairfield Harbour Beacon, Trent Woods Times, River
Bender, The Pines' Perspective (Carolina Pines), Sound
Waves (Brandywine Bay) and The Shoreline (Pine Knoll
Shores). Sun Journal This daily morning newspaper, owned by California-based
Freedom Communications, provides regional coverage of Craven, Pamlico,
Jones, Onslow and Lenoir counties and reports on state and national events
and sports. Sun Journal is available by home delivery or from
vending machines.

ESPN Radio 1490 is a sports-format radio
station broadcasting on WWNB 1490 AM in New Bern. Broadcasting to
Craven, Jones and Pamlico counties, the station's programming
includes syndicated sports talk shows from ESPN, local talk shows,
and local and national game broadcasts. Listen here for the Kinston
Indians games, New Bern High School football, basketball and
